Advantages of BioMAP® Systems

BioMAP® Systems are sensitive and powerful assays that allow scientists to obtain human pharmacological data at key decision points early in the R&D process. By enabling rapid determination of efficacy, side effects and mechanism of action of drug candidates, the BioMAP® Systems platform offers an innovative approach for the identification of both "first-in-class" and "best-in-class" drugs.

BioMAP® systems use only human primary cells – ones taken directly from the body as opposed to being derived from cell lines – and cell combinations and culture conditions are carefully optimized so that cells behave as they would in the body. These systems provide the opportunity to sample new target and pathway space, and can be applied as a stand-alone platform for the identification of novel, innovative drug leads. The platform can also be used in conjunction with target-based and other screening approaches to select optimized drug candidates with enhanced biological features.
