Peter Bluford, Vice President, Business Development

Peter Bluford joined BioSeek as Vice President, Business Development in January 2006 and has operating responsibility for corporate partnering and licensing activities. Mr. Bluford brings 18 years of experience in licensing, business development and commercial planning at public and private life science companies in the San Francisco Bay Area. His most recent full-time position covered eight years as Vice President, Corporate Development at Sangamo BioSciences, Inc. (1996-2004) where he had executive responsibility for the management of Sangamo's intellectual property, licensing and strategic business planning activities. From 1992 to 1996, Mr. Bluford was employed by Somatix Therapy Corporation, where he was responsible for business development and strategic planning as Director, Commercial Development (1992-95), and Project Team Leader of the GVAX cancer vaccine program (1995-96). From 1990 to 1992, Mr. Bluford was Manager, Strategic Market Planning at Celtrix Pharmaceuticals, Inc., and its predecessor company, BioGrowth, Inc., where he was responsible for business planning and market research to support Celtrix's Somatokine and BetaKine preclinical and clinical development programs, respectively. Prior to BioGrowth, Mr. Bluford was an Associate Product Manager at Clontech, Inc. (1988-89) and Research Associate at Triton Biosciences (1987-88). Mr. Bluford received his B.S. degree in biochemistry and his M.B.A. from the University of California, Berkeley.
