Alliances

Most pharmaceutical researchers have experienced the problem of compounds that perform differently in animal testing or clinical trials than had been expected. We apply our BioMAP® Systems to integrate predictive human biology throughout discovery and development, to fully characterize the performance of compounds in disease-relevant contexts. We work with drug development teams, including program leaders, medicinal chemists and pharmacologists, to identify compounds and compound features that are most relevant to specific clinical biology.

We are collaborating with pharmaceutical partners to improve the efficiency of their drug discovery programs at many stages, including:

  • Compound screening for lead discovery
  • Lead optimization and structure-activity relationship (SAR) studies
  • Characterization of secondary or off-target activities
  • Mechanism of action studies
  • Development of additional BioMAP® Systems for custom applications
  • Re-profiling of stalled clinical-stage compounds
  • Evaluation of in-licensing drug candidates
Current partners include:

Amylin and BioSeek are collaborating on the discovery and development of novel peptide therapeutics for inflammatory conditions.

BioSeek is applying its BioMAP® Systems to evaluate UCB Pharma compounds across several compound classes, in support of drug target differentiation, lead optimization, and drug candidate selection activities at UCB.

BioSeek is evaluating the potential human toxicities of a wide spectrum of environmental compounds for the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) under a three-part grant that, if fully realized, could involve up to 10,000 compounds and $12.8 million in funding.

BioSeek is applying its BioMAP Systems to evaluate Merck Serono small molecule compounds and proteins across multiple therapeutic areas in support of target differentiation, lead selection and nomination of candidates for preclinical development at Merck Serono.

BioSeek is working with Solvay Pharmaceuticals to identify and differentiate the human biological activities of preclinical compounds from multiple Solvay Pharmaceuticals' drug discovery programs.
